The 20-day long Odarpu Yatra of Kadapa MP, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, is scheduled to conclude at Kakinada, the headquarters of East Godavari district, on July 29.
The young MP, who started his third leg of Odarpu Yatra at Itchapuram in Srikakulam district on July 8, in defiance of the high command, completed his tour in the north-east district and is currently touring the East Godavari district.
He had made certain political statements during his Srikakulam tour and was found to be more aggressive than his previous tours in West Godavari and Khammam districts in the first phase and Kadapa district in the second phase.
He had criticized the high command, seniors in the party and had hit the Chief Minister K Rosaiah hard for creating problems to his tour. But, he had changed his tone and restricted himself to consoling the family members without making any political statements. The only political statement that he had made during his tour in East Godavari district was about the presence of Ministers and legislators in the tour despite restrictions.
As the tour is set to end in the next 48 hours, Jagan, in an attempt to hit the hearts of the people, said that some leaders have celebrated the death of his father.
Keeping these two statements in view, it is expected that the concluding meeting at Kakinada will give some indications on the future course of his action. There are rumors doing rounds that he is likely to pull out of the Congress and float a regional outfit. Though the leaders from his camp deny such rumors, the young MP and his loyalist are finding goings tough in the Congress.
It is to be seen how Jagan would conclude the present round of the Odarpu Yatra at Kakinada, the port city of the East Godavari district. |
